Bundoran Golf Club Co Donegal ‘The Hidden Gem of the North West’Bundoran Golf Club is an 18 hole championship course situated on the stunning North-West Altantic coastline. It is a combination of both inland and pure links golf which represents a challenging but fair test of golf for all levels of player.
The golf course was established in 1894 making it one the oldest golf courses in Ireland with this long history Bundoran Golf Club had played a prominent role in Irish Golf. In1927 they brought Harry Vardon,one of the world renowned course designers,to make the necessary alterations in order to establish Bundoran as championship type venue. This objective was achieved in 1930 with the first professional tournament being played over 72 holes.
Bundoran Golf Club further came into prominence when the world renowned Christy O Connor Snr became the associated golf professional from 1951-1957. O’Connor Snr was member of ten Ryder Cup Teams and won many individual events across the world, including the the first £1000 prize in Europe at the Swallow Penfold Tounamnent and the first £10,000 cheque at the Dunlop Masters.
Bundoran Golf Club is still holding major events with the most prominent being the West Coast Challege which attracts visitors form as far as the United States of America and all across Europe. It is regarded as one or the premier amateur events in Ireland.
At Bundoran Golf Club we offer many services which should cover he needs of the modern day golfer.
