i booked a 2 day break over easter online at the great northern. then contacted …

i booked a 2 day break over easter online at the great northern. then contacted the hotel to ask if possible could i get a sea view room, they said the receptionist said although easter is a very busy time they would note my request and if at all possible they would accommodate it. well on arrival we were met with jackie at the front desk and after checking in she let us know that we had a sea view room...with a smile. a lovely start to our break i thought. our room was beautiful and of course the sea view was to die for! jackie had told us were everything was so navigating the hotel was easy from then on. we ate on the first night in the bar, the menu was great and i thought very competative indeed. food was plentiful and tasty. after taking a walk around the coast that evening we were welcomed in the lobby by a warm fire...bliss..so relaxing and peaceful. there was plenty of staff on hand if you needed them however they gave you your privacy and space tp enjoy your break. next morning after using the leisure center...which was spotless. we had our breakfast. we got a wonderful seat by the window, and the views again were fantastic. great choices for breakfast nothing seemed to be any trouble for the staff really polite and helpful. plates were warm and so the cooked breakfast came out piping hot and tasty. we again went on a lovely walk around the cliffs and bundoran. when we came back we relaxed in the lounge and availed of the free wifi...which was great to catch up with family. later that evening were availed of our 4 course meal included in our package, again we were seated by the window. there was something for everyones taste on the menu. what can i say it was superb indeed again the staff were fantastic even offering us extra potatoes and veg etc...all in all after breakfast the next morning we both felt quite sad at having to leave the great northern as we had a fantastic time the place was faultless and that is done to the management and staff of this hotel...well done great northern! we will definately be back again :)

This was our second time staying at the hotel and was just as enjoyable as the first.The 'kids Club' is very good and my 2 children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The rooms are of a decent size and well cleaned, the leisure centre is sufficient for all needs and well maintenained. The staff are friendly and helpful and even when it was very busy during breakfast & evening meal times, the staff were very good and attentive. we would certainly recommend it and plan to return in the near future.

Fabulous hotel, we were recommended by friends and are so glad we stayed. Would definitely come back. Kids club was amazing, leisure centre was fabulous and the whole layout of the hotel is great. Our only comment would be that there maybe could've been beans or mushrooms with the Irish breakfast as it was a little on the dry side but other than that we loved it, thank you!

Great stay. Quality Hotel in a nice spot right off the Atlantic Ocean. Paved walking trail, with nice views. The room was a quality room, clean and well presented. It was not a new hotel, nor did it have some of the frills of newer ones. Good bed, big room, nice bathroom, well maintained.
